February News from Zizamele

After 18 years in our first premises where I trained the original Zizamele artists, we have moved to a new studio. Our new address is vibrant, busy Heron Park off Kommetjie Road. Our neighbours include Deep South Gin Distillery, Diva Foods, 8th Degrees South and Wim Botha the renowned artist.

We are open for business and looking forward to showing you around! Our Factory Shop is in the planning stages (this has been delayed due to load-shedding) Find us at:

Toni is off to Sydney again to participate in the annual Agha Gift Fair to be held at the Olympic Showgrounds from 21-24 February. When we took part in 2019 we had a great response to our products so we are looking forward to re-meeting all our Ozzie clients and supporters!

SPORTSMAN’S DINNER– custom bowls

We were asked to make customised bowls by legendary cricketer, Vince Van der Bijl for this event held last month at Wanderer’s Sport’s Club in Johannesburg. As they wished to give the bowls away to the sportsmen who attended the event, such as Francois Pienaar and Graham Smith, Vince asked us not to include the arms to prevent breakage.

The result is a very practical and beautiful bowl where the arms are painted onto the inside of the bowl. We used the Black&White design and they looked stunning!

These bowls were paired with our brightly coloured salad bowls which had flower arrangements in them. All the bowls had MADE IN MASI underneath them, along with the name of the artist and the date.

REMEMBER we can custom make products for YOUR special event!

Potters Market This will be held on 28 March at Rondebosch Park and we look forward to seeing all our friends there!

Over the years we have hosted numerous young volunteers from all over the world. In early December we were lucky to have 6 really bright young people from the LBS working in Zizamele.

They did some rigorous research on the company and then delivered a meticulous and well thought through presentation to me.

Please let us know if you would like to spend some time volunteering at Zizamele Ceramics!
