This is the signature product of Zizamele Ceramics. The African version of the friendship bowl, each of these bowls is wheel thrown from stoneware clay with skill and care.

Painted with a variety of colourful glazes, the bowl’s ladies hold hands around the rim in a spirit of unity. They wear their traditional headscarves and some have their babies tied to their backs in typical African fashion. Every bowl we create is unique and the vibrant patterns and colours on this bowl make it a once-off.

Perfect for your lodge, home or business this bowl is a piece of art that will give you pleasure for years to come.

Description

UMUNTU ngumuntu ngabantu

It is a complex Nguni word that means “the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity.

I am what I am because of who we all are.”

In Africa, the definition of an individual is community-based and not individualist. The Ubuntu bowls with their women holding hands in a spirit of Ubuntu, represent this philosophy.

My BEAUTIFUL new bowl is happily situated on my kitchen table. It brings a huge smile to my face. Thank you for all the care you and your team put into making it and packing it for the voyage. It has been a pleasure to work with you. You made me feel like family. You are truly special ladies doing special things. I’m in your balcony cheering you on!
