This bowl is wheel thrown from stoneware clay with skill and care. Painted with a variety of brightly coloured glazes, the bowl’s clay African lady wears her traditional headscarf and has her baby tied to her back in typical African fashion.  

In Africa, the definition of an individual is community-based and not individualist. Zizamele's Ubuntu pieces represent this philosophy.
