This Ubuntu Bowl has two hand-modelled African lady figures who face one another as if in joyful conversation. They have their babies tied to their backs in typical African fashion and wear their traditional headscarves.
Glazed in white on white, this bowl will enhance any interior. Gift it to a friend with sweets or soap in it or it could be used to hold trinkets.
Each of these bowls is wheel thrown from stoneware clay with skill and care, and hand-painted with white glaze. “UMUNTU ngumuntu ngabantu” is a complex Nguni word that means “the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity.” “I am what I am because of who we all are." In Africa, the definition of an individual is community-based and not individualist. Zizamele's Ubuntu pieces express this philosophy.
